James Leitch is a guitar player and teacher from Baltimore, MD, USA. He received his first guitar as a teenager, and it’s been his passion ever since. James studied guitar at Towson University with Michael Decker, Troy King, Tom Lagana, and Steve Herberman, graduating in 2014. He earned multiple awards and thousands of dollars for his classical guitar performances. James has performed in master classes with world-class guitarists such as David Russell and the late Roland Dyens. Today, James performs solo classical and jazz guitar at private and public events around MD as well as anywhere else guitar services are required. On top of that, he arranges and records classical favorites and jazz/pop standards for guitar.
In addition to his work as a performer, James earned his degree in Music Education and has taught private guitar lessons in the Baltimore area for 11 years and counting. He believes in bringing guitar and music instruction to as many as possible, especially people in need and with limited means. He's taught music and guitar classes in Baltimore City Public Schools, Recreation and Parks departments, and most recently at the VA Recreation Therapy Center in Northeast Baltimore.
